How It Began

I happened to stumble upon this site when I was trying to find inspiration to write a poem for Sheila, I felt that this was a way better way to express my feelings about the woman known as Sheila Rae Johnson. I was a very depressed person when I met Sheila and Sharon both, my husband of 19 years had left me for another woman, a couple of friends had taken me over to their house a couple of times and the rest is history. These two remarkable women took in this lost soul and helped heal a heart that I thought could ever understand what happened to my marriage and why. Sheila sat up with me on a few occasions and told me of some of her life experiences and read to me bible scripture to help ease my pain, at this time no one knew she was ill. Sheila took and showed me ways to ease my pain. When it was discovered that she was ill it almost broke my heart again. Sheila had her surgery and I helped take care of her. Sharon also got sick and I helped her as well, all I wanted ever was to show these two women my gratitude and appreciation for them. Sheila and I, I feel got pretty close during her recovery, we had some long talks and she was always worried about everyone else before herself. When Sharon was sick about a week after Sheila got out of the hospital she went in every night and made sure her sister had aspirin, water, and tissue by her bed and covered her up, we did this every night Sheila could not sleep until she did, it was a little secret that she had made me keep. I think she didn't want Sharon to think she was babying her or something like that. This family as a whole is amazing I have never seen a family pull together to help out others the way this one does and believe you me that I am only one of many and to this day I still call these remarkable people family. Thank You Mama Sheila for allowing me to be a part of your family and for helping me to understand thing that without you I most likely would still be struggling with today. I love and miss you.
